11 BROTHERS & NOT ONE SISTER.
There's enough of them (picture right) to form their own cricket team. But Perth's well known family of McAuliffe boys - 11 of them and not one sister - are interested in the turf more than cricket. This is mainly because Ted (third eldest) is the State's leading trainer of racehorses.
You would have to travel far to find a family of similar male strength and not a girl.
All were born in WA, all but 2 are married, and there's a new generation of 17 McAuliffe grandchildren springing up.
When Jack came to Perth on a visit a prodigious effort was made to get the boys to pose for their first picture with all present. Sons follow varying vocations with only one of them at present living out of Perth. He is Jack, who is mining at Westonia.
Proud parents are Mr. Jim and Mrs. Irene McAuliffe, of Archer St. Carlisle. McAuliffe senior is well known in the Cunderdin district where he was a butcher for many years. | MCAULIFFE, James (I25090)

My father was a prisoner of war from July 1943. He was the pilot of a Halifax bomber 51 Squadron RAF
He was shot down near the Dutch border and parachuted to safety - the sole survivor of his crew
At the war's end he married my mother Marjorie Mcquade, an English WAAF , and together they returned to New Zealand to live
