 | 22 & the former 24 Cumberland Street, Woodbridge, Suffolk, England The house with the rendered frontage to the extreme right side was the former "Wellington Inn". Continuing along Cumberland Street, the junction with the Thorofare and Quay Street/Church Street can just be seen. The Gammages house(s) are situated to the left side of the former Wellington Inn, and were formerly two residences, now formed into one. The larger residence was No.22, the smaller was No.24. No.22 (the door with the portico) contained a bakery shop; the visible, bricked in, window surround to the left side of the doorway was converted at sometime after the bakery ceased to operate. The separate bakery building was located behind the property, & was accessed from the lane to the right side of the house, it has since been converted into living accommodation. No.24 (the doorway to the extreme left side) has retained it's separate front door, (which is unmarked & has no door handle) despite being formed into one house with No.22. |
