Mr Lang gave his name to the Langside community which gradually grew about him. He left a momento by owning and naming Langside Street. He was for a time associated in business with his father in law Mr James Spence. The latter was the owner of Spence estate out of which the portion of Winnipeg in and around Spence Street was developed.
