Similar to her sister, Marion remained in the Taieri all her life. In 1891, she married John Lindsay at ‘Greenlaw’ farm, which would have been her grandmother’s residence too. Marion was born 6 months later than her namesake cousin, daughter of John Brown, which tended to cloud both women somewhat before marriage. That said, the two Marions were schooled together at Mosgiel School. According to school records, she lived at ‘Greenlaw’ as a child along with a number of descendants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the death of her husband, Marion moved to ‘Silverside’ to a property next to her Uncle and Aunt – John and Mary Brown – on Riccarton Road. From what I can find, in Apr 1920, John Lindsay (eldest son) took ownership of property and at the 1922 election, Marion had moved into the house along with a number of her children. She appears to have remained there until she passed. As a side note, the house remained in family hands until the death of Eric Douglas Lindsay, youngest son, in 1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marion’s husband, John, passed in 1918 and he is buried in West Taieri Cemetery. Marion would survive him by 39 years before her death on the 26 Aug 1957. She is buried alongside her husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
