Renee was born on the 19 December 1914\u00a0at\u00a0Gisborne, East Cape, New Zealand<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1941, she married Claude Stratford and the couple divorced in 1945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Renee shared through an interview with me, that she spent the war years working on soldier uniforms as part of the war effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the late 1940’s Renee moved to Benneydale and remained there until about 1962 when she moved to Haast on the West Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1950, Renee married Wilson Swift and the couple divorced around 1960.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About 1969, Renee married James Parkinson. The couple moved in with Renee’s mother, Rosina, at Rosina’s home in Glen Eden, Auckland. Rosina would have been in her 80’s by this time. They remained in the house with Rosina passing in 1986, aged 100 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n

James passed away in 2003 at Auckland. He is buried at Waikumete Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August 2008, Renee moved to a retirement home in Whanganui.<\/p>\n\n\n

Renee passed away on the 27 April 2013\u00a0at Mount St Joseph home, Wanganui, Rangitikei, New Zealand. There was a private cremation and her ashes were returned to the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
