Thomas Stark was born 10th<\/sup> May 1882 at Mataura and was, unfortunately, a very sickly youngster who suffered Kidney problems and was a chronic Asthmatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was in the Gore Volunteer Rifle Brass band during the 1890’s. He learned the Coachbuilding and Blacksmithing from his brother Robert at Balfour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He married Sarah Larsen on the 29th<\/sup> August 1906 at Riversdale. She died tragically 2nd<\/sup> August 1922 as the result of a very mysterious gig accident while the two children were still quite young. The marriage had not been a particularly happy one. Family gossip would suggest that one of her hatpins penetrated her skull. Very sad end to a short life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In later life, Thomas went to live with his sister Rosina in Auckland after the demise of her husband. From what can be sought, he was an accomplished lawn bowler, winning the odd tournament. He remained in Auckland until his death at Cornwall Public Hospital on the 5th<\/sup> December 1971. He is buried at Waikumete Cemetery, Auckland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas Enoch married Mary Mabel Kane in 1940 and from that marriage came 2 children, namely Ivan and Lester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
