Marion came into this world in Dunedin on the 25 July 1893. She was schooled in Dunedin and attended Dunedin Technical school and took a course in Dressmaking.
In 1921 Marion married Patrick Kinney of Hyde and moved to that district and took up the roll of farmer’s wife.
Marion died in 1958 at Dunedin Hospital, predeceasing her husband by 6 years. She is buried at Hyde Cemetery with her husband and one of their children, Francis, who died in a train accident where the driver of the train was alleged to be speeding to make up time.

At time of writing (Aug 2022), Patrick still plays music, appearing with his son around retirement villages etc.
