Charles arrived in this world on the 1 January 1922 at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.
He attended West Christchurch School and spent time at Karori School in Wellington.
He married Irene Havill in 1942. The couple had 5 children, all of whom are extant at time of writing (2026).
Charles was also a war veteran in WW2 and started as a Private and then acting Corporal on 2 tours.
Hi career was as a policeman and he served right up until he passed away suddenly on the 3 Apr 1969 at Greymouth, Westland, New Zealand
