Charles was the second to youngest child born to Fleming and Elizabeth, and he was born at Bressay in the Shetlands on the 19 February 1852. I am going to speculate, that Charles’ first names were a contraction of the Chief Magistrate of the time on Shetland – Charles G. Duncan.
He trained as an account and worked his entire life in finance. Later in life he was a bank officer and bank agent.
On the 10 November 1887 at Portsoy, Banffshire, he married Martha Margaret Nicholson Hunter.
By 1911 he and Martha had moved from the Shetlands to Greenock West, which is part of Greater Glasgow city. From there, the couple moved to Edinburgh.
As far as I have been able to determine, there were no children to the union.
Charles passed away at home on the 29 Aug 1933 at 25a St Ninians Terrace, Edinburgh.
Martha Laurenson passed away at Craigie Nursing Home in Dundee, Forfar, Scotland.
