The garden surrounding “Langwell”.
This photo taken at ‘Langwell’ around 1900. The only person I can see is James HUTTON (1875-1948) on right hand edge. If we assume that the child in his arms is his youngest (May Isabel) born 1909, then this photo is from around 1911. 1909 is the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Fanny and Angus. The homestead and gum trees are so very characteristic of the Langwell surroundings. Credit BP ROSS, 2021.
Nothng is forever and these photos show the loss of trees and slow decline of Langwell. Date unknown.

The informal photo – in the garden. My Nana, Grace, wrote on the photo that Papa’s trousers were too grubby so a blanket was called for. Nana also wrote that her grandmother’s hair was long and shiny brown.
