Sidney Owen Stark

Sidney was born on the  15 Sep 1909 at Balfour, Southland, New Zealand. He was Robert’s 4th child and the first born of his second family with Jeannie.

By 1916, Sidney had moved to Orepuki School and would change schools frequently until finally ending up at Clyde Quay School in inner Wellington. He attended Carterton School as well as Balfour School.

Sidney started his life as a Salesman based around Whanganui. At the outbreak of WWII, Sidney was balloted for the war and his address was Paeroa in the Hauraki area and his occupation was Shoe Salesman – Hannah Shoes.

In 1941, Sidney married Jeanetta Mary Dunn. They were both registered as voters in Whanganui in 1938, so possibly met there.

By 1943 the couple was living in Wellington and there they had 2 children Elliot and Anna-Paulette.

Sadly, Sidney passed away on the 6 Nov 1986 at Waterloo Station, Lower Hutt as a result of an accident with a train. His wife, Jeanetta passed away on the 22 Nov 2001 at Lower Hutt.
