It would be fair to say that Emily lead a very short life. She was born on the 4 Apr 1865 at Rode, Somerset, England and emigrated with her family on the ‘Merope’ to New Zealand in 1870.
We know that Emily played music and did so at services and sunday school at the Church in Gebbies Valley.
Sadly, Emily passed away on the 27 Jul 1889 at Gebbies Valley, Canterbury, New Zealand. She was the first interment in the very new consecrated grounds of the Church of the Epiphany.
