Robert was born on the 07 Oct 1901 at Hedgehope, Southland, New Zealand. He attended various schools around the district including Waimumu School.
He shares the same name as an uncle, who passed away in 1942. Robert contracted in a variety of roles, including Fellmonger.
Robert married Gertrude Fisken on the 25 Feb 1929 at Gore, Southland, New Zealand.
There were no children from the union.
Sadly, Gertrude passed away on the 27 Jul 1968, aged 66, and is buried at Gore Cemetery.
Robert passed away on the 4 November 1997 at Gore, Southland, New Zealand and is buried along side his wife at Gore Cemetery. He was 96 years old.
