Was born on the 1 February 1879 at Kaiapoi, Waimakariri, Canterbury, New Zealand.
He spent the first part of his life working on his father’s farm at Springston, learning how to farm and manage farming activities.
In 1905, he married Fanny Louisa Lowe at Springston and the couple began a family.
From that union, the following children arose.

Sadly Fanny would pass away on the 6 Jul 1909. Her remains are buried at Springston Cemetery.

At Saint Stephens Church, Lincoln, David married Mary Anne Hamilton. From that union, one more children would join the clan

David died on the 3 January 1970 at Ashburton, Canterbury, New Zealand at the Tuarangi Home. His remains are buried at Lincoln Cemetery.
