David farmed around Burwood in Christchurch and at various times, that occupation overlapped his siblings in the same locality.
On the 26 November 1944 at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand, David passed away.
His remains are buried at All Saints Church Cemetery in Burwood alongside his parents, John and Edit.
