Phyllis was born on the 25 March 1914 at Blackball near Greymouth.
In 1932, she married John Meikle

Having spent their lives in Blackball, towards the end of their lives they transferred to Nelson, where both Phyllis and John passed in 1997. Phyllis first on the 12 March 1997 and John next on the 12 September 1997. Both are buried at Marsden Cemetery, Nelson.
