The couple moved to both Linton and Waiouru between 1963 and 1971, where Lawrence was a soldier.
The couple retired to Palmerston North at Kelvin Grove. Joyce passed away in 1986 and is buried at Kelvin Grove Cemetery.
Lawrence passed away on the 4 June 1997 at Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand and is buried alongside his wife.
