Was born on 12 Apr 1925 at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. As a young person, she attended West Christchurch School.
In 1945, she married Arthur Barlow at Christchurch. From that union arose 4 children, with 3 of them extant at time of writing (2026).
Joan lived most of her life at Springston before moving to Lincoln later in life.
Arthur passed away in 1982 and was cremated with no final resting place.
Joan passed away in 23 Aug 2003 at Westport, Buller, West Coast, New Zealand. I am confident that she passed away at her daughter’s home. The daughter lived in Westport at the time of Joan’s passing.
In 1984, she married Richard Rogers at Lincoln, Selwyn, Canterbury. The couple lived around Wigram area until Richard passed in 1997.
Around this time, she moved to the West Coast and lived with her daughter. Sadly, Joan was hit by cancer and passed away at the Dunsford Ward, part of Buller Hospital at Westport on the 23 Aug 2003. Her body was cremated at Greymouth on the 24 August 2003 at the Westland Crematorium and her ashes returned to the family.
