Gilbert was born on the 22 May 1926 at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. Like his siblings, he also attended Christchurch West School, starting in 1931.
Gilbert was a Coachbuilder by trade and lived almost his entire life at Halswell, a suburb of Christchurch.
In 1950, Gilbert married Una McTeigue and the union created 4 children. As most of them are living, I will not document their names here.
Una passed away a frew years earlier than Gilbert in 2011 and her remains are interred at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery at Halswell, Christchurch.
Gilbert passed away on the 7 Mar 2015 at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand and his remains are interred alongside Una’s.
