Was born on the 6 September 1929 at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. Sadly, she passed away on the 9 December 1961 at Waikuku Beach, Canterbury, New Zealand under violent circumstances.
Phyllis managed the general shop at Waikuku Beach (which is off State Highway 1 going north out of Christchurch). A deranged man killed her in her shop in December 1961. Phyllis is buried in Bromley Cemetery, Christchurch.
I have not been able to find a death record for the man who killed Phyllis.
Phyllis’ plot is in the same plot as the family that fostered her after the death of her mother – the Forward family.
